Why we do it?

Chirag Barjatya reached the echelon of Indian Twitter by asking one simple question, “Protein kidhar hai?” (where’s the protein?). He asked that day in and day out at breakfast, lunch, and dinner with such relentlessness that soon enough the man was coronated food police in these spheres. What followed was thousands of tweets, replies, and memes – random people tagging him under tweets. It even got to a point when people shuddered at the thought of posting food that was devoid of protein. He was baited, trolled, and ridiculed for being obsessed with protein but also lauded and featured on numerous news portals and web articles.

Soon enough, the protein kidhar hai campaign caught the imagination of thousands. His follower count and engagement numbers grew exponentially, and here Chirag was the undeclared crown prince of protein on Twitter. With a background in Nutrition coaching and a team of nutritionists to back him up, he soon turned all that attention into serious business and established Team Chirag which evolved into PFC Club (ProjectFitCo Pvt Ltd).

PFC Club staying true to its mission of demystifying health and fitness, helping people understand the gaps in their food, environment, and lifestyle has been collecting donations from all its members to contribute towards the protein needs of underprivileged kids. This macronutrient, as essential as it is for all humans alike, is not a part of our daily diets – especially in India and among those who are unaware or unable to afford it. The nutritional deficiencies in India among kids are alarmingly high and even though this drive wouldn’t create a significant dent to the numbers just yet, is an attempt to take up the issue and do something about it!

How we use them?

We go to such schools where tribal and underprivileged kids study. We see what their diet is like, and most of the times it lacks protein, that’s where we participate and donate protein rich food and ingredients. In our recent donation drive we donated 100kg soya chunks, 100 litres of milk, 100kg dal and 50kg peanuts.
